The year-long mentoring programme, jointly developed by the Hungarian, Polish, and Slovak sections of AICA, is a collaborative initiative designed to support emerging critics at the beginning of their professional careers. It is intended to become an annual tradition among these regional AICA sections.

In each participating section, a group of young art critics was selected through an open call and paired with experienced mentors — including curators, editors, and academics — to work together on developing the participants’ writing skills. The programme culminated in 2025 with the publication of texts by the emerging critics, produced over the course of the mentoring process. The resulting texts have been published here.

During the webinar, participants and mentors will come together to reflect on their experiences and the lessons learned through the programme. More broadly, the session will provide a platform for discussing the current state of art criticism in Central Europe.
