Este encuentro en línea con especialistas, curadores y críticos de arte, permitirá el análisis y definición del nuevo papel de la ética en la crítica de arte desde una perspectiva regional que desmitifique las lógicas de poder inscritas en la tecnología, evitando que la imagen se reduzca a mercancía o propaganda.

La crítica, no obstante, debe reposicionarse como un espacio de mediación ética, capaz de señalar tanto las potencias creativas como los riesgos de invisibilización o apropiación indebida. Además, en su intersección con la IA, debe velar por que las tecnologías no generen brechas de exclusión, sino que amplíen la participación en la vida cultural.

Este nuevo webinario organizado por AICA Regional América Latina y el Caribe es el décimo cuarto que organizamos con la participación de las secciones nacionales que aglutinamos.

Este webinar se llevará a cabo el jueves 25 de junio a las 17:00 h (hora de São Paulo, Brasil) y a las 14:00 h (hora de Costa Rica), con ponentes de Venezuela, Cuba y Argentina. La moderación estará a cargo de Juan Carlos Flores Zúñiga de AICA Costa Rica.

ONLINE SEMINAR: Ethics of the Image in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

This online meeting with specialists, curators and art critics will allow for the analysis and definition of the new role of ethics in art criticism from a regional perspective. It will demystify the power dynamics embedded in technology, preventing the image from being reduced to a commodity or propaganda.

Criticism, however, must reposition itself as a space of ethical mediation, capable of highlighting both creative potential and the risks of invisibility or misappropriation. Furthermore, in its intersection with AI, it must ensure that technologies do not create gaps of exclusion, but rather broaden participation in cultural life.

This new webinar, organized by AICA Regional Latin America and the Caribbean, is the fourteenth we have organized with the participation of the national sections we comprise. It will take place on Thursday, June 25, at 5:00 PM São Paulo, Brazil time and 2:00 PM Costa Rica time, with speakers from Venezuela, Cuba and Argentina. It will be moderated by Juan Carlos Flores Zúñiga of AICA Costa Rica.
