AICA International Prize – Artist Award

September 4, 2026

The AICA International Prize – Artist Award is envisioned as a shared initiative to recognise an artistic voice that has made a singular contribution to the discernment of contemporary challenges, critically envisioning the discourses of tomorrow while drawing on historical legacies within the framework of La Biennale di Venezia.

This award honours one or more living artists who are not represented by a national pavilion in the main exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, In Minor Keys, by Koyo Kouoh and her team: Gabe Beckhurst Feijoo, Marie Hélène Pereira and Rasha Salti (advisors); Siddhartha Mitter (editor-in-chief); and Rory Tsapayi (research assistant).

What makes this prize unique is its participatory nature. Members of AICA International who are up to date with their membership fees are invited to vote for the artist of their choice from a list of 22 eligible artists.

An online vote will be open from September 22 to November 24.

The winner will be announced at the General Assembly on December 4, 2026.

The winning artist will receive:

  • a grant of €6,000;

  • an invitation to an event in Paris to present their work;

  • networking opportunities with art critics and curators who are members of AICA International.

  • une bourse de 6 000 € ;

  • une invitation à un événement à Paris pour présenter son œuvre ;

  • una dotación económica de 6 000 €;

  • una invitación para participar en un evento en París, donde presentará su trabajo;
