“Destruction, Creation and Solidarity” : Saturday, February 10, 14.00, Online

February 6, 2024

On the anniversary of the earthquake disaster that occurred on February 6, 2023, the International Association of Art Critics Turkey (AICA Turkey) is organizing an online meeting titled "Destruction, Creation and Solidarity" together with artists, cultural workers and academics living in the cities affected by the earthquake, on Saturday, February 10, at  14.00.

The event proposes to discuss the tragic dimension of the disaster, the memory erased by the earthquake and its aftermath, through the eyes of writers, artists and academics who experienced the earthquake and witnessed its consequences closely,  to envision the future together while keeping that memory alive.

"Destruction, Creation and Solidarity" focuses on artists' post-disaster experiences in the earthquake zone. The meeting invites art and cultural workers to discuss the possibility of suggestions and ways to continue producing where they left off and to produce despite everything.
